De Twee Zwaantjes features a bright, traditional wooden facade painted in deep green and white, standing out against the neighboring brick row houses on Prinsengracht. This is one of the oldest brown cafes in the Jordaan district. It began serving neighborhood residents in the early twentieth century as a gathering spot for laborers and local characters. The walls hold decades of framed photographs and memorabilia from the many singers who performed here, keeping the cafe famous for its long tradition of nightly Dutch singalongs.
