The World Peace Flame burns inside a glass monument at the center of a circular plaza, protected by a flame that has remained lit since nineteen ninety-nine. It consists of seven individual flames gathered from sites around the globe, including the birthplace of Buddha and a site in the United States, which were merged into one. When the flame first arrived, local school children carried it through the city to this permanent home. The fire stays burning regardless of the weather conditions outside.
