Guilin Lijiang Art Academy

The Guilin Lijiang Art Academy features a series of distinctive, terracotta-colored buildings tucked against the rising limestone karst hills of the Qixing District. This campus serves as a dedicated training ground for students mastering traditional Chinese painting and calligraphy. In the late nineteen eighties, local artists pushed for a space where the unique landscape of the Li River could be studied directly from the classroom. Today, the academy remains the primary site for preserving regional brushwork techniques that trace their roots back centuries.
