Xiaoyaolou Dongxi Ln Scenic Spot

viewpoint

The Xiaoyaolou, or Hall of Carefree Wandering, stands out with its sweeping, multi-tiered eaves that mimic the traditional architecture of the Tang dynasty. Built to honor the scholar Li Bo, the structure marks the spot where he supposedly composed poetry while overlooking the Guilin landscape. Its intricate wood carvings and sharp, upturned roof corners set it apart from the surrounding modern developments. Local tradition claims this is where Li Bo found inspiration for his most celebrated verses about the area's limestone peaks.
