Wyspa Bielarska is a small, quiet patch of green wedged into the Oder River. It is easy to spot because of the wooden footbridge that connects it to the neighboring island, and the lack of permanent buildings leaves the center of the space entirely open. In the mid-eighteenth century, the island housed a bustling mill operated by the local furriers' guild. The mill functioned for decades until a massive flood in nineteen oh three washed the structure away, leaving the island completely bare.
