The Avrupa Pasajı features a narrow, glass-roofed arcade lined with arched storefronts, echoing the elegant passages of nineteenth-century Paris. Built in eighteen seventy-four by the architect Cleanthi Zacco after the great Pera fire, it replaced the former Dutch embassy. Merchants once displayed fine jewelry and imported fabrics behind these glass panes to entice the city's elite. Even today, the interior retains its original marble floors and ornate ironwork, separating the quiet walkway from the chaotic bustle of the Beyoğlu streets outside.
