Atlas Pasajı

The Atlas Passage features an ornate, neoclassical stone facade topped with a pair of stone figures flanking the central window. Built in eighteen seventy-seven as the winter residence for an Armenian merchant named Agop Köçeyan, the building originally centered around a grand ballroom. During the nineteen thirties, the internal courtyard became home to the Atlas Cinema. Even as theaters around Beyoğlu vanished, the passage kept its original layout, including the elaborate ceiling moldings that once impressed guests at Köçeyan’s private parties.
