The Greenwood Theatre sits directly on the grounds of Guy's Hospital, a location that creates a unique blend of medical study and high-stakes television history. While it serves as the primary lecture hall for medical students during the day, the building was originally engineered with professional features like a full fly tower and theatrical lighting. These specifications were so advanced for the time that the BBC leased the space for a full decade starting in 1979. During that period, the studio hosted major programs including the political debate show Question Time and provided the live audience laugh track for the first series of the legendary comedy Blackadder.
