Jewish Museum London

The Jewish Museum London began in nineteen thirty-two in the Bloomsbury district, founded by Professor Cecil Roth, Alfred Rubens, and Wilfred Samuel. These founders wanted a dedicated space to preserve the history and religious practice of Jewish communities in Britain. The institution eventually expanded its mission by merging with the London Museum of Jewish Life, which had been established to specifically rescue the disappearing heritage of the East End. This combined collection spans from the Norman conquest to the present day and includes thousands of items ranging from personal letters to rare ceremonial art.
