St Helen's Church, Bishopsgate

St Helen's Bishopsgate is a unique architectural survivor, formed by the literal merger of two separate houses of worship. In the early thirteenth century, a convent of Benedictine nuns built their own church directly alongside the existing parish church, creating a layout where two naves sit side by side. This double-nave structure remains today, characterized by a line of elegant arches that once separated the nuns from the local parishioners.
