Stavordale Lodge

historic

Stavordale Lodge is a modern apartment building completed in 1965. It sits on Melbury Road, a street famous for the elaborate Gothic Revival houses constructed by prominent nineteenth-century artists and architects. The site itself once hosted a seventeenth-century dissenting house, a type of meeting place for religious groups operating outside the established Church of England. Today, the lodge serves as a quiet contrast to the ornate, brick-built studios and mansions that define the character of this part of Holland Park.
