Tate Modern Viewing Level

The tenth floor of the Blavatnik Building, known simply as Level Ten, serves as an open-air observation deck that provides a rare, panoramic view of the London skyline. From this vantage point, the dome of Saint Paul's Cathedral sits directly across the Thames, framed by the modern glass of the city and the historic silhouettes of the South Bank. The space is part of the newer wing of the museum, which was designed by architects Herzog and de Meuron to rise like a twisted, brick-clad pyramid from the foundations of the original power station's oil tanks. While the gallery spaces below are carefully curated to control your focus, this outdoor terrace intentionally returns you to the scale of the city itself. It acts as a final, expansive breath of air after hours spent moving through the confined, quiet rooms of the museum galleries.
