Church of St Peter ad Vincula

The Chapel Royal of Saint Peter ad Vincula serves as the parish church for the Tower of London community, a role it has held for over five hundred years. Its name, which means Saint Peter in chains, honors the biblical account of the apostle's imprisonment in Jerusalem. While the current structure dates back to a reconstruction in fifteen twenty, the site has hosted places of worship for nearly a millennium. Unlike other buildings within the fortress that served as storehouses or prisons, this space has remained dedicated solely to faith and community life throughout its existence.
