Robert B. Atwood Building

The Robert B. Atwood Building stands out with its blue glass skin and twenty-story height, marking it as the tallest office building in Anchorage. It opened in two thousand and three to consolidate state offices that were previously scattered across the city. The structure replaced a parking lot and a former department store site, bringing hundreds of government employees into the downtown core. The building is named after the longtime editor and publisher of the Anchorage Daily Times, a figure who steered local politics for decades.
