Pier 70 Time Machine

museum

The Pier Seventy Time Machine consists of a rusted, corrugated metal shed housing a collection of heavy maritime machinery from the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. It stands as a remnants of the Union Iron Works, where steel hulls for the United States Navy were hammered into shape. Shipbuilders once gathered here to cast massive gears and turn propellers for vessels like the battleship Oregon. The iron equipment remains bolted to the concrete floor, abandoned exactly where the last workers walked away decades ago.
