Hotaling Annex West

landmark

The Hotaling Annex West building features a distinctive, slender facade of warm, tan brick that narrows sharply toward its northern end. Anson Parsons Hotaling established his whiskey empire here, filling the surrounding warehouses with thousands of barrels of liquor. When the firestorm swept through the city, the heavy stone and brick walls held. Firefighters used the building as a defensive line to save the neighborhood.
