Mural by Marina Perez-Wong

This mural is the work of Marina Perez-Wong, a San Francisco native who grew up in the Mission District surrounded by the city's rich history of political and community muralism. She began painting as a young child while spending long periods in the hospital, and she later co-founded the Twin Walls Mural Company with her longtime friend and artistic partner, Elaine Chu. Their collaboration is built on a shared desire to capture community stories and reflect the history, struggles, and dreams of the people who call this city home.
