Stonehenge (building)

The Stonehenge apartment building in North Bergen stands on the edge of the Palisades cliffs because developer Fred E. Koehler sought to capitalize on the unobstructed views of the Manhattan skyline. Constructed in the late nineteen thirties, the building was designed to resemble a fortress with a distinct stone facade that inspired its name. The structure became a focal point for luxury apartment living in the area by incorporating amenities that were rare at the time, including integrated garages and private park spaces.
