Verrazano Park

Verrazano Park sits on the edge of West New York along the Hudson River waterfront. It is named for the Italian explorer Giovanni da Verrazzano, who became the first European to sail into the New York Harbor in the sixteenth century. While the name is famously shared with the massive bridge connecting Brooklyn and Staten Island, this park offers a much quieter perspective on the same waters he first navigated. The park provides a direct view across the river toward the Manhattan skyline, serving as a peaceful overlook rather than a crossing for transit.
