Hunters Point Community Park

Before this land became a park, it served as a bustling hub for the Long Island Rail Road. For decades, the site held massive floating bridges that transferred entire train cars onto barges to be ferried across the East River to Manhattan. This maritime operation functioned as a vital artery for the citys industrial supply chain long before tunnels connected the borough to the rest of the city.
