Chown Pella Lofts

The Chown Pella Lofts building wears a façade of cream-colored terra cotta, marked by a rhythmic series of tall, rectangular windows that span the corner of Northwest Twelfth and Everett. In the early nineteen hundreds, this space served the Chown Hardware Company, a firm that specialized in distributing tools and building supplies across the Pacific Northwest. When the hardware business eventually moved out, the structure sat empty for years before developers stripped the industrial interior to create these residential living spaces.
