Keller Auditorium

The Keller Auditorium features a distinct, textured concrete exterior and a jagged, angular roofline that rises abruptly above the surrounding city blocks. Built in nineteen sixty-seven as the Civic Auditorium, the hall replaced an aging facility that could no longer accommodate the city’s growing arts scene. During construction, workers discovered massive iron rings embedded in the foundation, remnants of a nineteen hundreds era ship-mooring site. It serves as the primary home for Portland’s opera, ballet, and touring Broadway productions today.
