Pier One Sydney Harbour, Autograph Collection

Pier One Sydney Harbour sits on a massive timber wharf that juts into the water beneath the southern approach of the Harbour Bridge. It consists of two long, shed-like structures built in the nineteen twenties to process passengers and cargo for P and O ocean liners. While the rest of the city modernized, these sheds kept their heavy ironbark beams and corrugated metal walls. Inside, the hotel rooms now tuck directly between the original structural piles that once supported the weight of global trade.
