The Koorie Heritage Trust building features a striking facade of multi-colored, rectangular panels that mimic the texture of traditional weaving. Inside, the organization holds one of the most significant collections of Koorie cultural artifacts in existence. In nineteen eighty-five, it began as a small project to protect ancestral remains and cultural objects from being lost or sold. Elders insisted that these items remain under the care of the community, turning the trust into a powerful center for maintaining Indigenous identity in the city.
