Grands-Moulins Garden

The Grands Moulins Garden occupies a site that once functioned as the largest industrial flour mill in the world. Built between nineteen seventeen and nineteen twenty-one, these massive mills were designed to stabilize food supplies for Paris during the turbulence of the First World War. At their peak, the facility processed seventeen hundred tons of wheat every single day, operating on an industrial scale that dwarfed the output of traditional mills across the country.
