Promenade Jules Isaac

Promenade Jules Isaac follows the path of a former railway track, the Petite Ceinture, which once encircled Paris to connect the city's main train stations. This elevated strip of greenery sits directly above the street level, elevated by sturdy stone walls that kept steam trains hidden from the neighborhood below. Jules Isaac, the historian for whom it is named, lived nearby and famously rewrote French history textbooks to emphasize understanding between nations. The track bed now holds native plants and a quiet walking path.
