Fresque Missak Manouchian (artiste Popof 2012)

The Fresque Missak Manouchian occupies the entire side of a building, featuring a stylized portrait of a man in a flat cap against a burst of red, white, and blue. Popof painted this tribute in two thousand twelve to honor the Armenian resistance fighter. Manouchian led a group of immigrant fighters who attacked German occupying forces during the Second World War. He was executed by firing squad in nineteen forty-four, leaving behind a letter to his wife that remains carved into the city's memory.
