La Petite Ceinture

The La Petite Ceinture is a double track of rusted iron rails and wild vegetation, forming a belt of overgrown silence that circles the dense urban core of Paris. Built during the nineteenth century, this railway line once carried goods and passengers around the city perimeter before falling into disuse in nineteen thirty-four. When the trains stopped, nature reclaimed the space, turning the concrete viaducts and darkened tunnels into an accidental garden of wildflowers, birch trees, and tangled vines hidden from the streets below.
