Square Leon Serpollet is a neighborhood park built directly upon the site of an early twentieth-century industrial workshop. This land once hummed with the sound of inventors shaping the future of transportation. It served as the primary factory for Leon Serpollet, a pioneering French engineer who became world-famous for developing the flash steam boiler. His machines powered some of the earliest automobiles to ever navigate the streets of Paris, effectively competing against the nascent internal combustion engine.
