Le Paquebot

The building you are approaching, located at number three Boulevard Victor, is known as Le Paquebot, or The Liner. It owes its name and striking appearance to the architect Pierre Patout, who designed the structure in the nineteen thirties. Patout was a prominent figure in the Art Deco movement and gained significant fame for designing the luxurious interiors of legendary ocean liners like the Normandie. He applied that same maritime aesthetic to this residential complex, giving it a long, slender form that mimics the silhouette of a ship cutting through the sea.
