Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer

The Musée Français de la Carte à Jouer occupies the former seventeenth-century chateau of the Princes of Conti. Its facade features a distinct combination of brick and stone typical of the period, framing a collection dedicated entirely to playing cards. In the nineteen eighties, a local historian named Louis Choulant insisted that Issy-les-Moulineaux had a specific, centuries-old link to the card-making industry. He gathered thousands of rare decks and artifacts, establishing a museum inside these converted royal stables and wings to house them.
