Petite Ceinture du 15e (PC 15)

The Petite Ceinture is a double row of rusted iron rails slicing through the fifteenth arrondissement, held above street level by high stone embankments. This was once a circular railway connecting Paris’s major train stations, but the steam engines stopped running here in nineteen thirty-four. Today, nature has reclaimed the gravel track beds, turning the former transit hub into an overgrown thicket. Locals often tell the story of the last passenger train, which stalled completely when the modern metro system rendered it obsolete.
