The brick tower of the Beffroi de l'ancien marché rises above the fifteen arrondissement with a distinct jagged profile, mimicking the medieval belfries of northern France. This structure served as the centerpiece for the Vaugirard market, a bustling trade hub that defined the neighborhood for decades. In nineteen twenty-eight, architect Gustave Malot designed it to house the town hall's clock and a communal gathering space. Merchants once sold their goods directly beneath its stone arches while neighbors checked the time from the street.
