Musée du Général Leclerc de Hauteclocque et de la Libération de Paris – Musée Jean Moulin

The Musée de la Libération de Paris sits directly above the Gare Montparnasse, marked by the weathered, concrete blockhouse entrance that once served as a German bunker. This building holds the command post used by Colonel Henri Rol-Tanguy during the August nineteen forty-four insurrection. He directed the fight against occupying forces from a room buried twenty meters underground while the city burned above him. The museum documents his clandestine resistance network alongside the military career of Philippe Leclerc de Hauteclocque.
