The Musée Pasteur occupies the former apartment of Louis Pasteur inside the Institut Pasteur. Its most striking feature is the Byzantine-style chapel where Pasteur lies, decorated with intricate mosaics depicting his scientific achievements alongside religious scenes. Pasteur lived here from eighteen eighty-eight until his death in eighteen ninety-five. He spent his final years overseeing the research institute he founded, working in rooms that still contain his original laboratory equipment, leather-bound books, and personal belongings just as he left them behind.
