Musée de La Poste

The Musée de la Poste sits behind a facade of dark concrete fins, a vertical grid that marks it apart from the limestone blocks of the fifteenth arrondissement. This building holds the history of the French postal service, a sprawling collection ranging from wax seals to early sorting machines. When the museum opened here in nineteen seventy-three, the architect Georges Chédanne designed the structure specifically to process heavy archives, turning a service hub into a public gallery for the everyday tools of communication.
