Paris Expo Porte de Versailles

The Paris Expo Porte de Versailles is recognizable by the long, sweeping glass curves of the Pavilion seven, which stretches horizontally across the horizon like a grounded ocean liner. Built in nineteen twenty-three on the site of a former military fortification, the complex was designed to host the Foire de Paris, an international trade fair. During the Second World War, the French army used the halls to house thousands of refugees, turning the exhibition center into a makeshift dormitory for displaced families.
