Vue de Paris

viewpoint

The narrow, steep facade of the building known as Vue de Paris features a distinctive series of oversized, arched windows that climb three stories toward the roofline. This structure functions as an apartment block, but its layout stems from a period when Montmartre artists needed high, north-facing light to paint. In nineteen twelve, a local landlord remodeled the interior to accommodate resident painters, adding the deep studios that still exist behind those glass panes today.
