The Jardins Passagers occupy a space that once echoed with the sounds of a very different industry. Before these plants took root in two thousand one, this ground served as the site of the historic sheep market, which was part of a sprawling complex of slaughterhouses. You are now standing on land that shifted from industrial animal processing to a carefully cultivated sanctuary for urban biodiversity.
