Rosa Parks station (Paris)

landmark

You are standing at the site of a modern transportation hub that sits atop a vanished piece of industrial history. Before this station existed, the land was occupied by the Gare Est Ceinture, a stop on the Petite Ceinture, a circular railway line that once wrapped around Paris within the city's old defensive walls. That line closed to passengers in 1934, and the old station was eventually demolished, leaving the area quiet for decades until construction for this new facility began in 2010.
