Butte du Chapeau Rouge

The Butte du Chapeau Rouge owes its name to a tavern that stood on this hillside long before the current park existed. This old drinking spot, known as a guinguette, was situated near the village of Pre-Saint-Gervais, and its sign famously featured a red hat. By the time this public park opened in 1939, the name was already firmly attached to the hill itself, preserving the memory of a local landmark that has long since vanished.
