Square Antoine-Blondin features a long, curving pergola draped in wisteria that cuts through the center of the park. It occupies the former site of the Gaz de France workshops, which powered the streetlights of the twentieth arrondissement for decades. Antoine Blondin was a local writer who frequented the nearby cafes, famously writing about the Tour de France and the rhythm of Parisian life. The park replaced the industrial gas works in the nineteen eighties, softening the heavy footprint of the district's earlier utility infrastructure.
