Tour Saint Blaise

The bell tower of the Tour Saint Blaise stands apart from the surrounding neighborhood with its singular, jagged outline, defined by a distinctively sharp, slate-covered spire. This tower is the only remaining remnant of a twelfth-century parish church that once served the village of Charonne. When the rest of the original structure was demolished in the nineteenth century, the tower stayed put. It remains a lonely stone sentinel, marking the spot where the villagers of Charonne gathered for centuries before Paris absorbed them.
