Gare Saint Sauveur

The Gare Saint Sauveur is marked by its expansive, low-slung brick warehouses and the long, industrial tracks that once funneled cargo into the heart of Lille. For over a century, this site operated as the city’s primary freight hub, handling the coal and textiles that fueled the regional economy. When the rail traffic finally ceased in the nineties, the silence left behind a sprawling, empty skeleton. Today, those same halls hold art installations and community gatherings, repurposed long after the locomotives departed.
