Henri Matisse Park sits as a vast, sunken triangle of green tucked between the concrete geometries of the Euralille business district. It functions as an artificial landscape, sculpted from the earth to provide a quiet interval beneath the glass office towers. The park consists of three distinct levels, including a forest of bamboo and a floating island garden. Gilles Clément designed the space to change with the seasons, deliberately leaving parts of the grounds to evolve through wild growth rather than manicured maintenance.
