Pâtisserie au Lion d'Or

The Pâtisserie au Lion d'Or features a facade of carved woodwork painted in deep, dark tones, topped by a gilded lion that watches over the street. This building served as a master baker’s workshop for decades, maintaining the traditional Flemish style of intricate exterior detailing common in old Lille. When the city underwent shifts in its commercial zoning, the owners kept the original storefront intact. It houses a shop today, continuing the trade that defined its purpose since the nineteenth century.
