Designed by Christian de Portzamparc, the tower houses offices, a hotel, and retail spaces. It occupies the Euralille development zone, built over the intersection of several high-speed railway tunnels. Engineers had to suspend the structure above the active tracks, requiring deep foundations that avoid the underground movement of the trains passing directly beneath the floor plates.
