The Parc Henri Barbusse features a tall, slender chimney stack rising from the center of the lawn, a brick relic from the industrial plants that once dominated the Seine-Saint-Denis landscape. Before this became a public green space, the ground held factories fueled by the nearby canal. During the nineteen seventies, planners replaced the machinery with grass and pathways, yet they kept the stack as a marker of the neighborhood history. It stands today as a quiet anchor amidst the residential blocks.
