The building you are approaching was constructed in the early nineteen thirties to serve as a massive industrial warehouse for the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Its design was utilitarian, intended to function as a machine tool for the storage of grains, flours, and other goods arriving by barge along the Ourcq Canal. With over one kilometer of external gangways lining its facade, the structure quickly became a vital hub for the city's food and fuel supply chain.
