The CCU CCR EOF building in Pantin serves as a high-tech nerve center for the French national railway operator, the SNCF. It stands as the unified command center for both the RER E commuter line and the Paris Est rail network. Architects designed the facility to resemble a Renaissance villa, using a massive surrounding stone wall to enclose an internal world of offices and gardens that remain hidden from the outside. Two golden, metallic towers emerge from this perimeter, acting as a visual landmark for the area by day and night. The building integrates complex artificial lighting and vegetated roofs to ensure a comfortable working environment for the staff who monitor the constant flow of regional and national train traffic.
